I've Made My Peace With The World

I am not really sure what has inspired me the last few days, but I've found myself a passion and a new love. I know it might seem like an odd Spring topic however I've been thinking a lot about soup lately.

I understand that this is very weird and is usually reserved for days of Autumn, yet here I sit late at night craving a nice large bowl of soup. Craving to sit in front of a large cooking pot and smell the savory smell of chicken broth. To stir something  that slowly comes to become a meal. One that fixes broken hearts, rainy days, and sad moments. Maybe it is the fact that it has been a little rainy and cold where I live lately? Or maybe I've just been in kind of a peaceful mood? Nonetheless this simple thing, this simple food has gotten me thinking about so many magical ones.

There is something so amazing about a comforting bowl of soup. I love those homemade batches. It is seriously like a hug in a bowl. As I grow up I've decided that each Autumn I want to make a bunch of soups to freeze to enjoy throughout the Winter months. This has inspired me to look up recipes and imagine how warm my life could be with each wonderful spoonful. So as silly as it seems I've made myself a list of all the soups I'd like to make one day. I mean not only in the Fall, but at all times in my life.

I hope one day when I finally get a place of my own I can sustain myself on these recipes and that each of them will be able to lift my spirits. Those days when I finally find my other half I hope those 'in sickness' parts I will be able to make these soups for my husband. Surviving on the warmth of every last mug. I love comfort foods and think I've taken for granted how amazing soup really is. One day I hope to have little children who will grow up to know that their mother loves them by making them soup with good ingredients and lots of love.

I think soup is one of those things that I want to learn to make because it is so simply great. Here is the list of soups I'm going to try and make from scratch before the year is done. These are the soups I wish to pass along to others someday.

The only other thing that can do that for me is grilled cheese sandwiches. I love comfort foods and looking forward to sharing homemade versions of these things with the people I love. Past, Present, and Future. With soup I've found my peace with the world.
